The Mu Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on May 16, 1975 at Florida Technological University, presently the University of Central Florida. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. set precedent as the first black Greek-lettered organization on campus. Since then, the Mu Iota chapter has exemplified the Delta principles of scholarship, sisterhood, and service throughout the UCF campus with their continuous public service efforts. In addition, chapter members have held many prestigious titles such as the first and only black homecoming queen, members of the President's Leadership council, Volunteer UCF board members, and officer positions on numerous UCF organizations to name just a few.
